Monthly message from Mrs. Askerneese
February's theme of the month: HONESTY
Talk to your child about honesty and discuss why it's important. A simple definition is "telling the truth in what we say and do". Provide examples of how they can practice honesty (e.g., “When you make a mistake, you admit it”). Stories are a great tool for these conversations. Include cautionary tales about what happens when you lie. Discuss how it's important to be honest even when it might be easier to lie. Through these conversations about honesty parents foster children's moral reasoning as they consider other people’s feelings and perspectives.
